Going On a Safari

and what did they see?
Jaidyn and Addy wrapped up the month of April by going on a Safari at preschool. Jaidyn was decked out in her giraffe print shorts and Addy couldn't wait to wear her zebra print dress. Levi wanted in on the Safari dress and picked out a hat and purple sunglasses.

Cupid Shuffle, Birthdays, & Egg Hunt

It's been a super busy weekend and I think the week will continue to follow suit, so this will primarily be a picture post. :)

Wes is becoming quite the dance instructor, teaching the kids and our niece the Cupid Shuffle. He really knows how to strut it out. Quite entertaining!




Addy and Levi were able to celebrate their May birthdays a little early with their Papa and Mama LaLa.









How long will it take Wes to put together Levi's Ride and Learn Giraffe Bike? He's got several great helpers, so it shouldn't take him long.

And there's never a bad time for an egg hunt even if takes place two weeks after Easter. Due to circumstances that God controls, Jaidyn's best friend wasn't able to participate in an egg hunt over the Easter holiday, so Nana hosted an egg hunt for the kids partipate in this past week.

Front Porch

It was so nice to have nothing to do this afternoon (or at least nothing that couldn't wait until tomorrow) and be able to just sit on the front porch and enjoy the sunshine while watching the kids play. The outdoors wore them out as Addy fell asleep in the living room chair at 7 and Levi went to bed about 40 minutes later. So now it's just Jaidyn and I hanging out for the evening. And even though she is sitting right beside me, she is completely focused in on my new Iphone as I downloaded several kid game apps.

Jaidyn finished off the bag of frozen blueberries and her hands and lips showed for it. I just hope the little that she got on her outfit comes out.


Move over Paige Hemmis!! Addy is pretty in pink and armed with her power drill.


Levi and I shared a bowl of chips and salsa. Levi loves salsa!! His double dipping kind of grossed me out as he kept dipping his chip and sucking off the salsa before going for more. Yuck!


Levi has really grown over the past month. Today, he was hanging off bars on the playground equipment, trying to play tag along with the big kids, and stepping off steps without using a rail or wanting to hold my hand.

Jesus is Alive!

Absolutely perfect for an early Easter morning run...temperature, birds chirping, tree leaves budding and flowers blooming. And it was so refreshing about midway through to see the streets of our small town lined with balloons printed with "JESUS IS ALIVE".

Another Birthday Celebration

My sister turned the big 3-0 this weekend and while I wanted to give her a hard time about it, celebrating her birthday really only reminded me how old I am since I am the older (and wiser) of the two of us. We had a wonderful time and were so glad to be able to celebrate it with Jill and many of her friends.

The kids enjoyed an afternoon at the park...jungle gyms, walking trails, bubbles, and kites. Wes opted out and took a nap instead...he worked until 4:30am so I can't give him too hard of a time as I probably would have done the same.








Levi enjoyed the bubbles at first, but then decided to use his bubble tube as a sword to bang against the park equipment instead.





Jill brought Cooper along to the park and big dogs have big ****! She is such a reponsible patron cleaning up after him. :)

The kids with their great-aunts. They were in good hands and I am sure were spoiled immensely all night long. It was a beautiful evening they were able to play outside until dark.





Before leaving on Saturday we went to the St. Charles boardwalk along the Missouri River for lunch.








We are looking forward to Easter morning and while of course the kids are looking forward to a visit from the Easter Bunny, we are excited to celebrate the resurrection joy as it brings strength, beauty, and happiness.
