Dang Technology

A couple of weeks ago I became the owner of an Iphone 4S. And while I am enjoying having Siri as my new BFF, I now completely understand the frustrations that my parents have when dealing with technology in general. Usually either Jill, Jared or I (I am their last option) am on the phone with them giving them step by step instructions to help them with their latest computer endeavor. Having a phone with so many options and or "intelligence" is a little overwhelming. I just found out that I can tell Siri to remind me of someone's upcoming birthday or another special event and she will. So maybe one of these days I will even be better than my sister at remembering everyone's special events (maybe, but I'm not counting on it). I love the camera on the phone and its different features, but have had a really hard time editing the photos on my desk top once they have been downloaded. After doing some googling (which has taken me the past two weeks) I was able to find a way to edit and save them and finally get them ready to upload to the blog. It has been such an annoying process. Hopefully, now that I have it figured out it will become a little easier and less time consuming as I really like the convenience of the camera on the phone.

Jaidyn and Addy are in their 2nd week of school and Levi will be attending his 2nd day in a couple hours. Addy comes skipping down the sidewalk every day excited to show me what she has in her back pack whether it be an art picture, new books from the library or even her new spelling words for the week. Since his first day, Levi has already written and covered in stickers a love note to a crush in his class. And while Jaidyn is liking school, she is still a little bit in summer mode and just really thinks that she can put off any homework until the last minute. Hmmm, she may have come by that trait naturally as I think I did my best work waiting only hours before it was due.

My nephew aka Spiderman turned 4 and we used all of our super powers to help him celebrate it! It was held at a YMCA with lots of gymnastics equipment so my kids were in heaven!

The weekend before last we had a family weekend at Papa & Lala's house. We met early Saturday morning for group family pictures at their newly renovated historic home The adults were instructed to wear black with jeans and the kids in white with jeans. We followed the instructions and I am not sure what Lala has against a biker chick, an obsessed with himself fitness guy and Incredible Hulk in the sleeveless shirt. Yes, it was all a big joke and boy did we have a good time making her think that we actually going to wear the attire for pictures. Guess I'll save my faded ribbed workout tank for later in the day for the whiffle ball game.

The adult team prevailed in the end, but it took some serious work on our end. The kids thought that pushing us off base and hitting us with the ball counted as outs. We already had to swing with our opposite hand and I think that was a handicap enough for us oldies!

Reid designated himself as the whiffle ball grounds keeper and made sure that several select adults were held accountable for any trash they placed on the ground.
